Leipzig: Theme for Korsholm Music Festival 2018

Cecilia Zilliacus has been appointed the artistic director for Korsholm music festival for a three-year period beginning 1 October 2017. 

The Korsholm Music Festival 2018 will have ”Leipzig" as its theme, with Zacharias Topelius as a sidekick.
Since the days of JS Bach, many composers and musicians, studied, worked or just spent some time in Leipzig, to learn from the masters. Mendelssohn founded a school, Wagner was born there, Amanda Maier came to study violin with Engelbert Röntgen, a member of the Gewandthaus orchestra, Grieg came to show his work to Liszt - the list can be made very long.
